Forget stations, delayed trains and fat controllers, think more new wave dining experience, exciting young chefs and a stage for a culinary adventure. Welcome to Platform 1.
Positioned perfectly along the lively Lordship Lane in East Dulwich, is this permanent pop up restaurant where everyone from chefs to food producers and wine makers to brewers get the opportunity to showcase their handy work and products to a trendy audience looking for an alternative dining experience.
The concept is the brainchild of Chloe Gounder-Forbes who comes from a fine food background, both in a restaurant and retail environment running establishments like The Shed in Notting Hill and WC - Wine & Charcuterie. Chloe, a serious cheese fanatic, and I met whilst taking our alcohol license course (taught by a rather bonkers character!) and kept in contact while we grew our new ventures.
A few months on and several wine tastings, cheese tastings, brainstormings later we are now partnering on several projects starting with Platform 1's monthly wine maker's dinner next Tuesday 17th May. The event is an intimate affair with only 10 places available where the current chef in residence, Marcello Henriquez of ONA Chilean Concept, will be whipping up a 6 course menu paired to 6 wines from the Grape Juice Wines portfolio (see the poster above for more details).
This is the start of some great things to come between Platform 1 and Grape Juice Wines and as spaces are very limited do not hesitate to get in touch to book your spot around the table for the 17th May. We look forward to seeing you there!
